Dates, Timeline and Process

Applicants of the graduating class of 2029 - The STEM admissions committee will consider the candidates based on: multiple assessment methods in addition to strong middle school math and science grades, COGAT, PSAT 8/9, and *SAT scores (*if available), commitment to extracurricular activities specific in science/math or engineering and desire in the specific pathways offered.

Dates and Timeline

October 1, 2024 STEM application opens

October 8, 2024        STEM student and parent information night

December 1, 2024    Application process closes

January 31, 2025 Decision emails sent to students and parents

February 28, 2025   Acceptance forms due

Application Process and Checklist:

1.  By December 1st at 11:59 PM, complete the online application form.

2.   IF you are from a school outside of Cobb County, you must also submit a current transcript and printout of all standardized test scores to Lauren.Jackson2@cobbk12.org by the submission deadline.

3. Please note, there will be two rounds of acceptance; the first for applicants in the Lassiter attendance zone. Students applying to the STEM Academy who live outside the Lassiter attendance zone MUST ALSO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE SCHOOL CHOICE before being considered for the Academy during the second round of acceptances. All applications deadline still apply regardless of attendance zone.

 NOTE: ALL Student Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on December 1, 2024.
