Project Lead The Way's (PLTW) Biomedical Science Pathway is a comprehensive high school program that immerses students in the study of human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health through a series of four courses: Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, and Biomedical Innovation. Throughout these courses, students engage in hands-on activities, such as investigating the death of a fictional person, building organs and tissues on a skeletal model, and designing innovative solutions to contemporary health challenges, thereby developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills essential for success in biomedical careers. For more details on the curriculum and skills learned in this pathway, please view the course resumes below.
