Additional Information and Recommendations
Lessons are given year round. The year is divided into three semesters: fall, spring, and summer or summer camp lessons. Regular lessons are given once a week.
Lessons duration recommended:
- Young beginners – 30 min.
- Late elementary and intermediate – 45 min.
- Late intermediate and advanced – 1 hour.
If desired, the duration of lessons and/or number of lessons weekly can be personalized.
Summer camp lessons will be given beginning on Mondays and ending on Fridays from June 1 to July 23. Daily sessions for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are double lessons, and a single lesson is given on Friday. Therefore, your two month summer lessons will be delivered in one week which leaves more free time without reducing your pace of learning. The program offered will be tailored to match your personal needs to improve technique, sight reading skills, theory and duet plays. Also I will teach you music history and literature. The full camp session cost is equal to nine regular lessons.
Including holidays, the number of lessons per month may not always be the same; however, each semester includes fifteen private lessons. Your lesson time will be scheduled after the agreement is signed.
Recitals and festivals motivate the learning process. Students my participate in two recitals conducted at the ends of fall and spring semesters.
I strongly recommend that each student register as an affiliate with the Houston Music Teacher Association or the Cypress Creek Music Teacher Association, and also participate in the National Guild of Piano Teachers. This enables the student to participate in community musical events outside the studio, such as festivals, auditions, contests, and theory tests. I collect the Student’s Affiliate fees once a year and must send them by a single group check before the deadline. So all fees are the responsibility of the student and have to be paid on time. If payment is not made on time, the student will lose opportunities to participate in events.
