What is a paramotor?
A PARAMOTOR is the lightest and smallest powered aircraft currently available on the market.
It ranks in the category of ultralight aviation.
A PARAMOTOR consists of a paraglider wing and a propulsion system (motor and propeller). It is a fully autonomous aircraft, very handy and it takes very little space.
Despite its simple design, the PARAMOTOR offers surprising characteristics:
Once folded, it fits easily into the trunk of a car
Getting it ready to fly takes only 15 to 20 minutes
It can take one or two people (two-seater models exist)
It takes only a few yards to take off and can land almost anywhere
Its handling is exceptionally easy
Its cruising speed is between 20 and 35 miles per hour and it can also fly as slowly as 15 miles an hour.
Its fuel range can reach up to 4 hours
It can fly at low altitudes as well as 9000 feet depending on the engine performances and on the weather
Its wonderful characteristics make the PARAMOTOR the ideal leisure craft for:
Air cruises
Aerial photography
The identification of archaeological sites or business sites
For finding hiking trails or other unidentified areas from the ground
Because it is easy to operate, the PARAMOTOR can be practiced by just about anyone (men or women). However, it is a hobby that requires a good physical condition and specific theoretical and practical training.
Like any ultralights, the PARAMOTOR is sensitive to the upper air (movement of air masses), especially because the wing is not rigid.
