The different flight restrictions:
In order to take the prettiest arieal pictures possible, various conditions must be met:
FIELD: it is better to have it close to the area you want to picture. The average speed of the wing is 25 miles an hour and taking off far from the desired destination is an unnecessary waste of time and money. The take-off field must be flat and away from trees that might be cause turbulence; it must have at least a 100 yards of unobstructed area.
WIND: There is no point taking off with the wind over 6 miles an hour. The wind above this speed is often very turbulent and will make most pictures blurry.
TURBULENCES: Flying between 10 am and 6 pm in the summer is not recommended. The heat creates a lot of turbulence. During the winter time, there are no restrictions other than the wind speed.
BRIGHTNESS: To ensure great pictures, it is best to take them in the summer time when the trees are green and when the luminosity is high. The sun is essential for beautiful pictures. October can also be a very good time because of the fall colors. In winter it is better to take pictures when the ground is covered with snow.
ALTITUDE: The pictures will look prettier at an altitude of 300 to 600 feet. However, certain safety precautions must be observed; above a town or a city, a safety altitude of at least 1,150 feet is required, above rural areas, it is possible to take pictures at a lower altitude but by always respecting the safety rules. Flying in valleys is not recommended for noise and safety reasons.
