Linguistically, Sri Lanka is a diverse country. Much of the research on the languages in the country is inaccessible due to poor digital library resources and a lack of communication among researchers. Researchers often have little knowledge of existing or ongoing research on related topics. This site collects information on research done on the languages of Sri Lanka.
There are languages used in Sri Lanka in addition to the languages listed on the sidebar. Some examples are the languages used by Borah and Memon communities in the country. We welcome any information on research on such languages as well.
Please email the administrator (to firstname.lastname@example.org) if you know of any references that can be added to Language in Sri Lanka. Details of how to do this are on the sidebar.
