The Final Preliminary Engineering Report prepared by the engineering firm of Molzen-Corbin has been sent to the NM Environment Department for approval. La Jara Water is in the process of closing out the grant with the New Mexico Finance Authority. A copy of the Final PER is located below with the title: "Combined Report 4-14-17"
Also located below is the Scope of Work for the SAP. This is for projects to fix problem areas located along State Highway 96. These projects will be done when the weather warms, probably between June and August. Notices will be posted in the La Jara Post Office as the project gets underway to let customers know when water outages may be expected. The Board of Directors apologizes ahead of time for any inconvenience to our customers. We will try to minimize the time water will be unavailable. We will have water available, if needed, at the Water Office.
La Jara water applied for and received two grants from the State of New Mexico.
Preliminary Engineering Report (PER): New Mexico Finance Authority PERs
Pursuant to Rules adopted by the New Mexico Finance Authority Board of Directors and the New Mexico Finance Authority Legislative Oversight Committee, the NMFA must establish minimum criteria for plans funded by the Local Government Planning Fund. All preliminary engineering reports for water, wastewater and solid waste must comply with the Guidance Documents established by the United States Department of Agriculture through Bulletins 1780-2 (Water), 1780-3 (Wastewater) and 1780-4 (Solid Waste) as determined by the New Mexico Environment Department’s Construction Programs Bureau (“NMED-CPB”). In addition, each project must have the scope of procurement approved by the NMED-CPB on behalf of the NMFA.
Capital Outlay Special Appropriations Program (SAP): New Mexico Environment Dept Legislative Grants
The New Mexico Environment Department, Construction Programs Bureau provides oversight for water, wastewater and other environmental infrastructure construction projects funded through the Capital Outlay Special Appropriations Program. These are capital outlay state grants for special projects issued annually when authorized by the New Mexico Legislature during the legislative session and approved by the Governor. Eligible entities must apply through their legislative representation. We thank our State Representative, Stephanie Garcia-Richard, for acquiring our grant money for the project.
