Reflection of Mistakes:

The first mistake I made in my initial solution was that I did not take in to consideration the entire area of the yard, I only took into consideration half of the yards area. This simple overlook and misunderstanding of the problem led to a complete miscalculation for the rest of the problem. I also accidentally had added an extra post to the 9 meter length at zero meters which needed to be taken off. In fixing both of these problems I was able to correctly calculate the number of posts that would be needed for the entire area of the yard by multiplying the eleven posts I would need in total for one 9 m x 7.5 meter by two. After finding out that I needed 22 posts, that number was multiplied by the $2.19. Second, I just calculated how many meters of wire mesh was needed for every 1.5 meter space aside from one, where the gate should be located. Then, I added the cost of the gate. Lastly, I found out the amount of staples that would be needed by multiplying the amount of posts with the amount of staples each post needed. Once I got 154 staples, I was able to figure out that one would need four boxes of fifty staples to finsh the job. After adding up the total for the posts, the wire mesh, the gate, and the staples, the cost before sales tax came out to $278.40. From this mistake I have learned to really thouroughly read the question at hand and make sure that I am including all parts the question has to ask.
