From Dresden Airport (DRS):

From Dresden Airport please take the local train (S-Bahn) number 2 to Dresden Central Station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof). Trains run every thirty minutes between the airport and Dresden Central Station (see below for further connections).

From Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF) and from Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL):

You can reach Dresden from Berlin by several bus companies, e.g. with FlixBus directly from SXF. Each of the busses arrive at Dresden Central Station (see below for further connections).

By Train

The German railway network links Dresden with all major German and European destinations. For further information and connections please visit the homepage of Deutsche Bahn (German Railways).

Long-distance trains to and from Dresden arrive at and depart from the stations »Dresden-Hauptbahnhof« and »Dresden-Neustadt«, and in many cases serve both.

Dresden-Hauptbahnhof (main station) is located at the southern end of the city centre, which is easily reached by foot from most hotels and the workshop venue.

Two tram routes run into the city centre from Dresden-Neustadt station, which is situated on the opposite side of the river Elbe.

Public Transport in Dresden

    • Technische Universität (Bus 61, 66)

    • Nürnberger Platz (Tram 3, 8; Bus 61)

They are two stops away from Dresden-Hauptbahnhof and can also be reached walking. You can find an interactive map here.

Trams, buses und suburban rail services run at regular short intervals. Whereas the busses and trams of the Dresden transport corporation DVB concentrate on destinations within the city, the three suburban railway services also serve the neighbouring communities, above all those in the Elbe valley.
