The 622 operated from Caulfield Station to Chadstone via Darling station and Carnegie to Chadstone Shopping Centre. It then continued in a loop to the east of Chadstone passing Holmesglen station and through the suburbs of Chadstone and Oakleigh before returning to Chadstone Shopping Centre to terminate.
The 622 was operated by Shave Bus Service until that company was taken over by Driver Bus Lines and the route operated under the trading name of Waverley Transit.
