600: St Kilda to Southland

The 600 operates from St Kilda station through Elwood, Brighton, Sandringham, Black Rock, Beaumaris and Cheltenham to Southland Shopping Centre.

The 600 was originally operated by Melbourne-Brighton Bus Lines, but in the late 1980s the routes were operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority, initially from a depot in Elwood but later from Footscray and Sandringham.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority bus division was sold in two parts, with the Footscray and Sandringham depots being sold to Melbourne Bus Link, a consortium of Dysons group, the Reservoir Bus Company and the East West Bus Company. The 600 is presently operated by Melbourne Bus Link from these depots.
