I wake to skies of crimson red, she calls to me, “get out of bed!”
She waves and winks her eyes of blue, “its time to play, come share my view.”
“I cannot play today” I say, “there’s work to do and bills to pay.”
The breeze and trees, they laugh and call, “come on lets go, we’ll have a ball.”
The birds join in, “this way” they say, the chipmunks too, “come on let’s play.”
With every wave she leaves a gift, shells like jewels lie in wait,
a pirate’s treasure to be sure, she calls again, "come on your late!"
The sun is climbing, reaching high, the clouds puff up as they pass by.
With every wave that hits the shore, she beckons me, “waste time no more!”
“Alright, ok”, I finally say, “I guess I’ll have to come and play.”
She smiles and winks, this queen of blue, “make haste” she calls, “there’s much to do!”
