REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS: ROADS AND HIGHWAY
Bakong Meradong Road, Bintangor, Sarikei Division, Sarawak
Description
Survey, investigation, design, tender documentation, contract administration and construction supervision were carried out for the 16.7 km long road serving as the main feeder road to the farming area extensively planted with pepper, cocoa, fruit trees and rubber. The road transverses undulating ground. The road carriageway is 6.5 m wide finished with bitumen double surface dressing. There is a 60 m long reinforced concrete bridge supported on steel H-piles.
Semariang Road, Kuching, Sarawak
Description
This 2 km urban road is located just at the foot of Bukit Siol, on top of which the Kuching North City Hall is situated. It is the main thoroughfare leading to the City Hall.
This is a divided dual carriageway with two lanes each finished with bitumen premix surface. Street lighting is provided and the road is beautified with landscaping. The road is now serving as a grand entrance to the City Hall.
Tabuan Road, Kuching, Sarawak
Description
Survey, investigation, design, tender documentation and construction supervision were carried out for the improvement and upgrading of the existing 1 km long Tabuan Road.
The existing 2-lane carriageway was upgraded to a 4-lane urban road with a raised median to maintain smoother traffic flow befitting its role as a stretch of the protocol road from Kuching International Airport to the City Center and the State Legislative Building. Paved footways, covered drains and street lighting are included.
Bakong-Lingga Coastal Road, Sri Aman Division, Sarawak
Description
This is a 21.2 km long coastal road forming a part of the Sarawak State Coastal Road System proposed to link all the major coastal towns in Sarawak. It commences at Lingga Town and runs more or less parallel to Batang Lupar and ends at Kampung Bakong, a small population centre at the bank of Batang Lupar.
The road goes through swampy and peaty ground. The road is completed on a turnkey basis for the Department of Public Works, Sarawak. Survey, investigation, design and quality assurance were carried out.
Kuching Outer Ring Road, Kuching, Sarawak
Description
This 30 km long road provides an alternative route linking Kuching and Kota Samarahan and their hinterland namely Penrissen and Serian areas. The first stretch of 14 km including six gyratories is a trunk road to provide fast travel between Kuching and Kota Samarahan. The remaining length leading to Penrissen area is of feeder road standard serving the more rural area of Penrissen and Serian.
The road is completed on a turnkey basis for the Department of Public Works, Sarawak. Survey, investigation, design and quality assurance were carried out. The road has been opened in 1997 to the delight of the road users.
Infrastructure Works for South Port Area, Bintulu Port, Bintulu, Sarawak
Description
Survey, investigation, design, tender documentation and construction supervision were carried out for the upgrading of existing 1.2 km long 2-lane carriageway and new 2.2 km long 4-lane road South Port area of Bintulu Port.
The construction of the new road is inclusive of all necessary infrastructure facilities i.e. water supply and electricity supply.
