Shell

Shell's have shell elements which are curved. They are used in various applications. They are used in transporting fluids, storing chemicals etc., in boat hulls, in construction of roofs etc. Typical examples of shells are eggshell, water tanks etc. A shell has curved inner and outer surfaces separated by thickness t which is small in comparison with overall dimensions of the shell. The midsurface is at a distance of t/2 from both the inner and outer surfaces. Thickness t may be constant or may vary gradually or abruptly.

A shell could be a thin or thick.
