Value Eating

Healthy eating can get expensive, but it doesn't have to be!

Here are some tips on good values-- eat healthy inexpensively and quickly.

    1. Refer to the Environmental Working Group's Clean Fifteen and Dirty Dozen lists to help you decide what should be organic and what really doesn't need to be.

    2. Price compare across stores. Alternate between stores each trip and stock up on non-perishables and essentials.

    3. Whole Foods has a case discount! Ask an associate to show you where on the shelf label you can check how many you need for a case, then buy non-perishables in bulk to save 10%.

    4. Plan your meals and make food at home.

    5. Prepare several lunches at once.

    6. Freezer meals.

    7. Bake your own bread. It's easier than you'd think.

    8. Eat nutrient dense foods (e.g. lentils, greens).
