Jason Knight is a Montréal based artist working with digital and biologic technologies of the body.
Jason Knight’s interdisciplinary research-creation practice operates at the critical volatile intersections of biotechnology, performance, and contemporary critical theory. Spanning across performance, print, video, and multimedia installation art, Knight’s work functions as a systematic interrogation of modern biopolitics, examining the societal implications of reproductive technologies, institutional body management, and pervasive pharmaceutical interventions.
Guided by the frameworks of the medical humanities and scientific studies, the work initiates a rigorous critical examination of medical practices and expanding pharmaceutical cultures—frequently investigating how these apparatuses deploy discipline, punishment, and control over vulnerable body systems. By centering human research ethics and documenting the realities of marginalized populations, the practice directly challenges the power structures governing identity, containment, and somatic embodiment in contemporary culture.
