On this page I document the process that I followed to interface with an APC Smart UPS C1000 that I acquired. I bought this unit to be able to use it with a serial link, as described in its product sheet. Unfortunately, APC decided not to open the serial protocol to communicate with it. I find this utterly ridiculous, and would have bought a UPS from another brand had I known this in advance.
