Reflection:

After going through the discussion, planning activity, and the portfolio assignment reflect on how your professional learning space has transformed your thinking about delivering professional learning courses.

This module, like the one before, was very timely as the redesign of the professional learning space at our district office is a topic that is often discussed in my department. We do not like how the lab is currently set up and have been told that this is the district standard for labs set by the former director. Unfortunately, the former director did not have any classroom teaching experience or experience as a trainer and had no idea of how to accommodate the various needs of the participants. And, even more unfortunately, most of the labs in the district are set up with this “teaching wall” and rows of computers.

This module provided the additional information that I needed to help propel our team forward in making changes to our professional learning environment. Being able to access the resources as well as read about how others have created spaces that included all aspects of their wish list has been incredibly helpful.
