MARES
Here you will find the mares we have for sale and reference mares of our breeding program. I do not breed many of my mares and the numbers have come down over the years. The market is a bit depressed and I want to work and ride some of my horses. I know that as a horse owner you will understand. I will have one 2012 foal and sold already. You can view their pedigree information clicking on the link provided.
These mares are for sale
Bonnet – Sorrel AQHA/NFQHA 2005 Pedigree
Really need to get some updated photos of her, she is not the prettiest thing. Bonnet is a really nice girl but is getting huge and sad to say just one that is not very photogenic.

Chalimar – PtHA 5/17/05 Sire: Peppy Dam: Dreambar Pedigree
12/6/08 stands approx. 15.1 and built like a 4 year old. Will be started undersaddle Spring 2010.
Light ground work was done the fall of 2008 on this nice filly. She is so athletic it is almost scarey, she can turn on a dime and really uses her hind end to push herself around.
She has a really nice topline with a neck that naturally arches. A beautiful head, broad back, deep heart, big bone, big muscles, and a modern working horse pedigree. I would really like to follow this mares progress and she goes through life.
Asking $1500, Price Neg. to show home

Precious
('KR Peppy Red Wine' ) AQHA #4952303/NFQHA
Filly March 16, 2007 Color/markings: Red Roan, star, Dorsal stripe
Sire: Peppy Pedigree Dam: Waddy 'aka' Strawberry Pedigree
She is very friendly and loves attention.
Precious has a nice sloping shoulder that ties in nicely with her neck, low set hocks and deep hip.
Her pedigree is a ropers dream or a barrel racers. Both need the same conformation for short hard stops, fast turns, and quick bursts of speed necessary to win such events
Asking $1200, Price Neg. to show home.
This filly is going to be a chestnut in color with the Roaning effect, very dramatic and extremely athletic.

Ricochet - Sire Peppy Pedigree and Dam: Faith - Pedigree
Very athletic and when she was a foal, I wondered how an Arabian got into the pasture - has refinement, bone (lots of bone) and so much athletic ability it is scarey.

Moonstar
Stats: Grade - AQHA Appendix Mare - 15.3hh
Foaled in 1999 by two appendix AQHA horses and due to AQHA rulings not eligible for registration.
Foals include: 2 bay geldings Strings and Katty. Both geldings are near 16 hands
Vaccinations: Current
Farrier: Stands calmly
Leads, loads & Trailers: Very quiet, knows her job and what to do. Can tie or leave loose in the trailer.
Moon has extensive trial riding experience in the Sam Houston National Forest, San Jacinto River system Galveston beaches, Airport Rangers and SAR (search and rescue).
She has a mile eating extended trot that is smooth as glass and covers a lot of ground quickly. I really enjoy riding this mare, nothing gets to her. We have had hawks just about hit us, dogs and squirrels run under her belly and fish smack into her sides while in the surf. She has a lot of miles under her belt and sells sound all the way around.
Even after several months lay off (5) as I was riding other horses or busy. I went and pulled her from the pasture, loaded her in the trailer, got to the destination, unloaded, light groom, tacked her up and rode her out for about 2 hours at a walk on 12-6-08 (she is way to fat at the moment and my gear barely went around her). I can only say that she is just a nice solid trail mount.
I can never say enough good things about this mare.
Asking $3500, firm and non-negotiable, and at this price she is a bargain

For Sale $7,500
Extensive riding in the Sam Houston National Forest, Galveston Beaches, San Jacinto River system and SAR (search and Rescue). This mare rides and is an excellent broodmare, no vices or bad habits, she will kick other horses that ride her butt.
Very athletic with lots of hip for pushing power, nice soft eye, clean neck and tie end, short back. She is correct in every way.
Currently open so I can ride her when I get the chance to, which is not as often as I like.
She is a nice steady ride, but you have to watch her, she will go after other horses or people if they are in her space. She is a bit on the pushy - aggressive side and if you know your pedigrees then you know the answer as to why. This is not a fault to a working person who uses their horses. This type of horse is NOT for the new or inexperienced rider.

Glory Bound
AQHA Bay Mare with Dun Factor 2001 Pedigree
Foals include 3 colts: Full of Pep and Pep In Dun and 2007 –Redman
This is a very easy going broodmare that loves people and attention, she has a soft eye that truly matches her temperment. As you can see from the photos she has correct conformation, excellent shoulder, thick bone, short back and a decent hip on her. I have had no time to contiue her riding education, she had 30 days as a 3 yr old.

Easily Treasured aka Easy – Bay AQHA - deceased 1984-2011 Pedigree
Foals include: Strings, Easily Irresistible, Charley, Moon, Belle, Easy Rider & Treasure
This was just a grand old mare that consistently threw wonderful babies with good minds and temperaments. Their conformation is without question.

Tarbaby - Bay w/Dun Factor AQHA 1995-2009 Easily Irresistible 'aka Tar or Tarbaby' Pedigree
This was in fact my favorite mare and even today I still mourn her loss. She was everything you could want and even if she never did anything was a perfect pasture ornament. This mare was so pretty it hurt.
Lost my favorite mare to a rupture November 2009. Foals include: Chance, Faith, Glory, Easter King, Valentine, Twins (deceased), Roo & Stormy
https://picasaweb.google.com/110973165874315327419/Tar
Waddy Red Wine 'aka' Strawberry - Red Roan AQHA/NFQHA 2001 - Straw may not be the best looking mare in the pasture she just has an ugly head no getting around that and she does not pass it on to her offspring. Vet said too much calcium when she was developing in the uterus. Well as an old cowboy told me you do not saddle the head. The rest of her makes up for it though in personality, temperament and Pedigree Foals include: Nilla and Precious
https://picasaweb.google.com/110973165874315327419/Straw
Nilla Palomino Roan AQHA/NFQHA 2004 Pedigree
This mare is by Straw and is a keeper, she like Tar is just a pretty mare. When I say pretty I am talking the whole picture – conformation, temperament, train ability and just eye candy. Nilla has a real easy going nature and is just one of those you get and wonder how in the world did I manage this. I think she is one of a kind.

Jazz
Foaled 1995, palomino tobanio out of my barrel mare Duchess who was line bred Holly wood Gold. She is one of the few paints I have. Pedigree
Foals include several buckskins, she always throws color. Was started undersaddle many years ago and does ride but due to broodmare status is still green. She did enjoy getting out and going down the trials. I may put a halter/lead and tool around her in the pasture some, she is a comfortable bare back ride. Selling to approved home only for $4K.

Surprise
Sire Peppy and Mare Easy. This nice mare is the last one from my foundation mare Easy, she will not be for sale. She has also taken over the duty of watching over our one eyed foal (Roughstart) and I am sure they will be together for many, many years to come.

Ginger (deceased)
BLM - Mustang Mare - Foaled in 1986 -- Red Dun
Foals include Several Palominos and Duns
Rides really well and used mainly in the Sam Houston National Forest.
This is not a kids horse, she is sensitive to her rider and when in shape she can go all day.
Currenly using her as a spare horse for the small adult or advanced child rider who understand cues and to stay out of the mouth. Mainly my neice is riding her since her boy was lost during Christmas.
Ginger developed Heaves (aka COPD) Aug. 08 and was put on a one month treatment that puts her in remission. Caused by dry dusty conditions. This is a recurring condition that needs to be treated each year until the ole gal finally passes away. We kept her till the day she does pass away.

Maggie was here for just over a year with us on a lease program - she was not the best broodmare and took her new born down through a creek/gully over fifteen feet deep and high sided where the filly ended up losing her right eye, what a way to be welcomed into the world. Her filly is nick named RoughStart and will get an album up soon.
