After you check in to your hotel, check-in at the hospitality center, The Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery at the Main Street Station hotel (200 N. Main St., 702-387-1896) and share information on where you are staying and how you can be contacted. Nametags will be available for pick up or you may choose to wait and pick it up at the banquet. Updates on events, transportation, activities, will be available.
Monday, October 20, 2014 – Golfing or Slot Tournament or Whatever
Tee time at 8:30 a.m. at the Rhodes Ranch Golf Club for those who have signed up and prepaid. Cost includes transportation to and from the golf course, green fees, cart, range balls, and 2 draft beers or fountain drinks. Cost per player is $99 and must be paid in advance with registration. Rental clubs will be available for $30—Taylor Made Rocket Ballz Clubs. You must indicate in the registration form whether you will be renting clubs. Payment for rental will be at the golf course.
Golfer pick up from the California Hotel will be at 7:00 a.m. and return to the hotel at 2:30 p.m. Guests are welcomed. If you plan to golf please respond by sending your registration and check no later than September 1.
For non-golfers:
· Slot Tournament at the Main Street Hotel and Casino: You must indicate on your registration form if you plan to play in the tournament. Check in at the Main Street Tournament Location by 10:00 a.m., tournament time is at 10:30 a.m. Buy-in is $10 and all monies collected from participants will go into the prize awards. The more people entering, the bigger the awards since the total will be divided up among winners.
· Tours of Las Vegas on the Big Bus, $39/person with free 2nd day. The sightseeing tour showcases all of Las Vegas’ most famous landmarks and you can hop on and off at designated locations on The Strip and Downtown. http://eng.bigbustours.com/lasvegas/home.html

· Shopping at Outlet Malls – there are two outlet malls. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets-North, 875 S. Grand Central Parkway, 702-474-7500 is accessible by the Hop On Hop Off Day Tour Big Bus (see above), with pick-up at the area behind the Ann Taylor Factory Store on Premium Outlet Dr. Or you can take the city bus at Fremont St. on Casino Center, see info below on RTC buses. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets-South, 7400 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 702-896-5599, will require a taxi, or city bus. Southbound bus picks up at Fremont St. across from the Golden Nugget and will drop you off at the North end of the mall near the Burlington Brands and Nike stores. Buses run from 9 am to 12:30 am every day. The Express buses depart every ~15 minutes. The Hop On Hop Off Day Tour Big Bus does not stop at the South Outlet mall.
Tuesday, October 21, 2014 – Slot Tournament #2 and Banquet
Slot Tournament at the Main Street Tournament Location
· You will need to have indicated in your registration sheet that you will participate in the slot tournament. Check in at the Main Street Tournament Location by 9:00 a.m., tournament time is at 9:30 a.m. Buy-in is again $10 and all monies will go toward a prize pot that will be divided among the winners.
Banquet at the California Hotel Ohana Room
· Check-in will be at 6:00 p.m. Classmate Joe Basebase and his band will be providing music. Don’t forget your name tag if you picked it up earlier. No-host cocktails at a cash bar will begin at 6:00 p.m. Dinner service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aloha attire.
Class photo will be taken at 6:30 p.m. by photographer Jeff Whaley, so be sure to be there! Cost is $15 for 8” x 10” photo. The photographer will also take couples or group photos during that time. Payments are to be made directly to the photographer. Prints will be delivered before the banquet is over.
Wednesday, October 22, 2014 – Jersey Boys Musical at the Paris Hotel and Casino OR Whatever
· Jersey BoysMusical: If you pre-purchased tickets to the Jersey Boys Musical, your tickets will be available at the hospitality center on October 19th or at the banquet check in. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. but it is advised that you get there by 6:30 p.m. We will have information about transportation to the Paris Hotel, which is on the Las Vegas Strip, some distance from the Las Vegas Downtown area.
· Other sightseeing tours, museum visitations and activities (see below) are available. If you didn’t take the Big Bus tour on Monday you could do it on Wednesday. Shopping at the Outlet malls is also a possibility (see description above for Monday activities.
DEADLINE DATES:
Extension to September 1, 2014 to sign up for the Jersey Boys Musical. First set of reservations have been made for those sending in their registration and payment by July 30th. No guarantee for Orchestra seats for those sending in registrations after July 30th but the group price of $49.50 for those 55+ will be available.
September 1, 2014 is the deadline to sign up for our main events in Las Vegas. This will provide enough time to confirm the number of people attending the golf tournament, slot tournaments, and banquet.
LAS VEGAS DOWNTOWN INFORMATION:
The following activities are around the California and Main Street hotels, which keeps the cost of transportation to a minimum and within walking distance.
· Fremont Street Experience – From October 7 – 31st Fremont Street will celebrate its 5th annual OktoberFrightFest in a festival combining Oktoberfest and Halloween. There will be free performances by the “Frank & The Steins” and the Viva Vision light and sound shows will have themes like the “Monster Mash” and “Time Warp”.
· Slotzilla at the Fremont Street Experience – For the more adventurous, this is a zipline at two levels. The lower level takes off 70 feet above ground and zips 850 feet to a landing platform. Daredevils can take the higher level and are shot out at 35 mph in a propulsion launch system, allowing you to soar 1700 feet, along the entire length of the Fremont Street Experience.
· Mob Museum – 300 Stewart Avenue, LV, Sunday (702-229-2734) – Thursday, 10 am – 7:00 pm. The museum chronicles the history of organized crime (Mafia and Crime families) in the US and the efforts of law enforcement to combat it. Admission is $15.95 for seniors (65+).
· Neon Museum Boneyard – 770 Las Vegas Blvd. North, LV (702-387-6366) – This is an outdoor guided tour of neon signs and their history in Las Vegas. One-hour day tours at the Neon Museum are $12 for seniors and are scheduled for 9, 9:30 and 10 am. There are also night tours, $22 for seniors, at 7:30, 8, 8:30 and 9 pm. Because of broken glass and rusty metal, you should wear closed toe shoes to this museum. About 10 minutes from the Mob Museum.
· Golden Nugget has a headliner—Gordie Brown, an impersonator of legends (both dead and alive), does a comedy routine with music starting at 7:30 pm on Tuesdays - Saturdays. He is hilarious and a great entertainer. Cost is ~$40 per person. Make your own reservations at 866-946-5336.
· The D LasVegas – 301 Fremont St., “Marriage Can Be Murder”, 5:45 pm interactive murder-mystery dinner theater, ~$65 dinner and show. Make your own reservations at 702-388-211 or purchase online at http://www.marriagecanbemurder.com/tickets/
· Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada(RTC) bus ––For those who aren’t renting a car but still want to venture outside of Downtown, you can take the bus—either the Deuce or the Strip & Downtown Express SDX. Passes can be purchased at the ticket vending machine (TVM) near the Freemont Street Experience near Casino Center. 24-hour pass = $8 / 3-day pass = $20. SDX operates from 9:00 am-12:30 am and goes Southbound to the Strip and Northbound to Downtown.
