Verbal and nonverbal communication skills are critical to master in any industry as they increase your credibility as a competent communicator who can speak confidently to an audience. To demonstrate my effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills, I attach a presentation from my training and development class, COM 422. In the training, my team describes how to effectively manage group discussions. In the presentation, I speak at an appropriate volume, rate of speech, and tone of voice. My facial expression and gestures effectively convey my meaning to inform the audience. In the beginning of the presentation, I pose the question, "who here has ever been part of a group where they felt like their ideas and opinions weren't being heard?" Then, I connect the associated feeling to the importance of facilitating group discussions well. This effectively gains the attention of trainees to begin the presentation. Additionally, I also do well to provide feedback to trainees during the training. In doing so, I demonstrate that I can adapt my verbal and nonverbal communication skills to fit the circumstance. Through this presentation, I demonstrate my verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
