A complete redesign and reimagining of the work order tracking mobile app, Sidekick, as part of the TMS Computerized Maintenance Management solution
This project had a interesting persona problem unique to this domain. Building and Maintenance Technicians tended to less comfortable with computer and App technology. They also work in environments that are dirty, wet, and uncomfortable.
Creating a solution for these users presented unique challenges
We heavily tested the existing product to determine what features are used the most and where the current product failed. We also shadowed Building and Maintenance Technicians to understand their needs and problems, especially with an electronic solution.
As we began to iterate on solutions, we continued to test during each step of the way.
The design is built around a list of work orders organized around priority and filterable by location. Users could change the status, log time, and order parts all with just a few button presses. This addressed the complaints about the existing system by reducing the number of 'clocks' required to view and resolve a ticket.
