Does your door rattle like a can filled with loose screws why you close your door?  If so this might be the solution to your problem.  The door lock is connected to the interior and exterior pull via sets of wires which look like bent coat hangers.  The loop through holes in the door lock which should have plastic grommets.  Over time these rot and fall out resulting in metal on metal noise.  The parts are cheap and it's relatively easy.

Parts required per door

The door lock gasket is not required however I included it in the parts list since removing the door look is necessary and the part is cheap. 

Procedure

Here is the procedure for a '72 CS with power windows. 

Remove the door panel and the plastic vapor barrier from the door

Once removed I was able to examine all the door lock and pull assembly.   I discovered the source of an annoying rattle which occurs when closing doors or driving on rough roads. The sound is like there 2 or 3 nuts in a coffee can somewhere inside the door. 

The inside door handle is connected to the door lock mechanism by a wire about the diameter of a coat hanger. There is a grommet (51 21 6 442 159) at each end which keeps the wire from rattling around when the door is opened or closed. Mine were completely rotted and had fallen out. Three of these
