Activities outside classroom
During sophomore, I celebrated eighteenth years old by applying for camping to teach and to develop some skills for children, to teach hill tribe people about the election, to renovate a school in a small village located in remote area. At first, I actually wanted to help them and to teach them some new things. But after thirteen days staying and teaching there, those people actually had taught me. I have learned how to have simple life, nice culture, and how to stay in hill tribe without destroying forest. They have given me the value of real life, new attitude toward life and have brought me to better know myself and to be what I am now.
After discovering and learning many good attitudes, I found myself and would like to pay it forward. I joined students’ Board of Committee and worked for many extra-curriculum activities concerning to social development. I became a board committee for the hill tribe camp, working in fund raising, promoting the activities among university’s students, and teaching students in the camp for the next two years in the university. At the same time, I also extended activities for homeless and orphan children by setting up “Janjaokha” group literally mean “Moon”. The group was awkwardly established at the first place. I had an important role as a co-founder and president of the group, working from scratch by writing proposal, raising fund, promoting group activities, inviting university students to join our group activities. Our activities include finding volunteers to create New Year card for almost four hundred children living in various children foundations in Bangkok, volunteers for environmental camp, and also art camp for children.
Janjaokha Group
In area of initiative, I created many activities to persuade students to join extra-curriculum activities by publishing Janjaokha magazine. The magazine had been published monthly to gain awareness and to attract students for voluntary work with Janjaokha group. The group was very success in its objectives and I am so proud to say that the group is now operating by the new generation of students. Currently I am in charge of the Janjaokha alumni gathering people who have been involved with the activities to contribute time to visit children at the foundation.
While studying and doing many activities that you might see in my resume, I faced some problem in managing my time at the beginning. Fighting with the new responsibilities and balancing my life, these had given me many skills such as time-management, and also had made me stronger. In retrospect, I am relieved that I had gained many skills and had overcome the difficult time that benefit for my working life.
Immediately after my graduation, I went to USA through Work and Travel Program at Busch Garden, Virginia (Amusement park) for almost four months. I have broadened my perspective in culture differences and backpacking travel. After I came back from USA, there was a destiny leading me to see the announcement of volunteer program to help travelers in Bangkok Youth Hostel. My enthusiasm to practice English has brought me to apply for it. As the one from selected 20 volunteers, I met up and interacted with international travelers, learnt from each other, formed friendship and engaged in environmental protection activities.

In 2002, after two years as a volunteer in Youth Hostel, I was selected from International Youth Hostelling Federation (IYHF) and UNESCO to help in Youth Festival for Peace in Korea for two weeks. I had to lead and to facilitate people who were from many parts of the world to learn about peace and International understandings. I was excited to be chosen and was aware of my knowledge in Peace and Environment issues. I worked very hard in content preparations, languages, activities, and materials for sharing. Above all, I found the attitude was more important.
Learning is my lifestyle. Just like traveling, I like to go to a new place and meet up with new people. The certificate of tourist guide has proven that how much I like traveling. I took my free time to be a tourist guide in historical and natural places.
The lessons I have learned from my bachelor degree and various experiences have channeled my desire for working in area of communication in non-governmental organization. Thus, I would like to pursue my degree in communication to further my knowledges, my skills and to extend my abilities in communication. Studying and doing research will be very useful for my future career.
