IT Management , It was my another final year professional level course. This management course offer for graduate level credit as well. IT Management mainly covered and we have learned, how to effectively manage and organize Information Technology and Information System in Business organization. In addition, we have learned and experienced how to lead, manage, and improve Information Technology and Information System which is align with businesses in a managerial and executive perspective. Therefore, we have acknowledged and better understanding of all level of roles and activities in an organization hierarchy. Most importantly, we have learned how to manage an organization in IT standard and a frameworks which is essential for any businesses and organization.
IT standard and frameworks are a set of rules for all technology platform in an organization, including hardware,software, peripherals, development languages, operating system, desktop system, network, protocols and telephony. 1. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) - This framework mainly focus Operations and Infrastructure and comprehensive process oriented framework with software management.
2. IT Service Management (ITSM) - IT service management based on end user (customer) perspective. ITSM has no governing or set of documents standards. Mainly, it determined budgeting, stuffing, operating priorities based on end user needs.
3. ISO/IEC 20000- International set of standards for IT management processes International standards organization (ISO)
4. ISO/IEC 17799- ISO 17799 provides audit standards for IT security from ISO. It is help set rules for information security and confidentiality.
5. Control Objective for Information and Related Technology (COBIT)- This is also Information Systems Audit and control framework. IT frameworks and guideline for best practices of IT process and control. It is also including Serbans oxley (SOX) compliance for control and Auditing IT Governance.
In this course, We researched and analyzed Gartner report and the Wal Street Journal. Accordingly, we needed to create our own executive summary to learn the role of executive and leadership point of view. In addition, we have analyzed how to improve and sustain an organization. Therefore, it help us better understanding, how to provide our knowledge and add value to make any differences in businesses.
