FINDING THE HOOK: Teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math (STEAM) Using Oregon's Sustainable Fisheries

August 14 - 17, 2017 in Newport, OR

Join the Oregon Coast STEM Hub as we engage with the fishing community, researchers, and natural resource managers to explore the complex issues surrounding Oregon's fisheries. This 4-day workshop will include field-based and classroom activities such as data collection, dock walks, engineering challenges, lab tours, fish printing, and seafood sampling. Most meals are provided. Housing is available for participants traveling more than 50 miles from Newport. Boots and rain gear are recommended each day. The cost is $50, and all participants will receive a $200 stipend upon completion of the workshop. Register at http://tinyurl.com/FindingTheHook or contact Tracy Crews with questions.
