June 30, 2010 - Daingerfield Bee - Historical marker dedicated

June 30, 2010 The State Archeological Site Medallion was dedicated at the John Wingate Truitt Cabin near Jenkins on June 5. The Texas Historical Commission identifies the property as a Texas historical landmark. 

Direct descendants of John Wingate and Elizabeth Truitt gathered at the Truitt Cousins Reunion in Jenkins, where the 1840 vintage cabin is still located on the original site.
