JLTM Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization located in Plano dedicated to helping students in the DFW area grades 6 through 12 improve their public speaking skills. Through weekly meetings, speech competitions, and peer feedback, members will develop exemplary communication and public speaking skills through an engaging and supportive environment.
Through our 100% student-run meetings, members will develop into confident and articulate presenters through peer feedback and evaluations, all while learning and having fun in a friendly and entertaining atmosphere.
The club is 100% student run. This not only provides leadership opportunities and experience, but also makes the meeting atmosphere relaxed and fun, allowing members to confidently develop their speaking skills effectively while having a good time with their peers.
Each meeting, members are given opportunities to do three events: Speeches, Table Topics, and Evaluations. With a rotating schedule that changes each week, all members are able to experience different roles each meeting. This ensures that everyone will be able to develop skills in all the different aspects of speech, from pre-prepared presentations, impromptu discussions, to constructive feedback from peers. Our engaging meetings are guaranteed to improve members' speaking skills, regardless of previous experience.
Furthermore, we host summer seminars with many guest speakers over a broad range of topics, such as interviewing skills and college applications.

All meetings are on Friday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Carpenter Recreation Center (6701 Coit Rd, Plano, TX 75024). Please visit the Meeting Schedules tab for information on holidays and schedule changes.
