March 2: First day of class.
March 8: HW1 is posted in "Assignment" page. The due date is March 16 (Thursday).
March 13: On Tuesday, we will have our first lab session. Please make sure that you have your laptop ready (install R).
March 16: Homework 2 is posted. Please find it in Assignment page.
March 20: We will talk about the coming Quiz-1 in class.
March 22: Information for Quiz 1.
March 30 (Thursday), in-class.
3 questions in 30 minutes.
Classrooms 502 and 402. Room assignment will be posted on the door of two classrooms.
Please come 10 minutes earlier.
It covers (i) chapters 2 & 3, (ii) lecture notes 1-6, (iii) homework 1-2, (iv) past quiz questions.
Basically, it covers everything we do up to the next Tuesday (March 28).
No R question this time.
You are allowed to use a calculator. But no laptop.
March 23: Today we discussed and agreed to move the date of Quiz 1 to March 30, which is next Thursday. I made changes in the post above accordingly.
March 26: On Tuesday, We will solve the past quiz questioons together. Please try to solve them in advance.
April 2: Homework 4 is posted. You have more than one week to complete it. Due date is April 11 (Tuesday).
April 2: This Thursday (April 6), we will have a lab session. Have your laptop ready.
April 9: On Tuesday (April 11), we will continue to have a lab session. Have your laptop ready.
April 9: HW 5 is posted. Due date is April 18.
April 13: Midterm exam is on Tuesday, April 25.
The midterm covers chapters 2,3,4, and 5.1-5.3.
It starts at 10:30am. Please arrive 10 minutes earlier.
How to prepare?
Read textbook and lecture notes.
Review all homework.
Past midterm exams will be distributed on Tuesday. Solve them.
You do not need to run R during the exam. But you should know how to read and interpret R outputs.
You can use a calculator.
April 17: Homework 6 is posted in Assignment page. This is an exercise for the midterm exam. So do not submit your solution. My solution will be distributed in class on April 20.
April 18: On Thursday, we will solve the past midterm questions together. Please try them in advance.
May 2: HW 7 is posted. Due date is May 9, Tuesday.
May 3: There will be a lab session tomorrow. Be sure to bring your laptop.
May 7: HW 8 is posted. Due date is May 16, Tuesday.

May 11: I will return your midterm exam on Tuesday, May 16.
May 12: Date for Quiz-2 is quickly approaching. It covers (i) regression using R. (ii) topics in Chapters 4.4 - 6.3. Please be prepared.

Date: May 25 (Thursday), in-class.
It covers chapters 4.4-6.3.
R question this time. You will be asked to run regressions.

How to prepare?
Homework 7,8,9. This is the most important part of preparation. I will ask questions closely related to those in homework.

Read textbook and my lecture notes.
Running regression in R is relatively simple, but you need practice.

May 27: Homework 10 is posted. The due date is June 8, Thursday. Because June 6 is a holiday, you have more time for this homework.
May 27 (continued): The next homework 11 will be given this Thursday. It will be your last homework.
