Announcement for Econometrics, 2019, Hanyang University.
March 5: I gave the first homework today. The deadline is March 14. If you missed the first class, ask me a copy of HW 1.
March 12: The deadline for HW 1 is changed to March 19, Tuesday.
March 13: Homework 2 is posted in 'Assignment' page.
March 17: On Tuesday, I will distribute in class quiz questions from the previous year. Try them. If possible, study together with your classmates.
March 18: Announcement for Quiz 1.
- March 28, Thursday in class.
- 3-4 questions for 30 minutes.
- covers everything we do up to March 19.
- we will use one more classroom. Classroom assignment will be posted later.
- How to prepare?
- study reading guide 1-5 and solve examples and exercises there.
- there will be no R question.
- review homework 1 & 2.
- solve exercises in the textbook.
- you can do everything in Ch 2. I also encourage you to do Exercise 3.1, 3.3, 3.4.
- covers Ch 2, 3, 4.1, 4.2.
March 19: As announced in the first day, there will be no class on March 21, Thursday. A makeup class will be arranged soon.
March 25: For Quiz 1, we will use classroom 307 as well. One half of students will use our own room (210), and the remaining half will use 307. I will post classroom assignment on Tuesday.
March 25: As announced in class, we will have a lab session tomorrow (Mar 26). Please bring your laptop. Make sure that you know how to use the school wifi.
April 4: Quiz 1 was distributed in class.
April 4: We will have a lab session on Tuesday, April 9. Please bring your laptop.
April 9: On Thursday, April 11, we will have a lab session. Please bring your laptop.

Apr 13: Information for the coming midterm:
- April 25 (Thursday) in class.
- Classrooms 210 and 307.
- Classroom assignment will be announced shortly.
- 5 questions in 70 minutes.
- Covers chapters 2,3,4,5 (up to 5.3).
- There will be a R question.
- you don't have to use R to compute anything during the exam.
- but you will need to know how to use and interpret R output.
- laptop is allowed, but you do not necessarily need one.
- How to prepare?
- study all relevant reading guides.
- re-do homework 1-6.
- re-do quiz 1.
- solve exercises in the textbook as much as you can.
- try last year's midterm (will be distributed in class).
April 16: Homework 6 was announced today. Due date is April 23.
April 16: There is no makeup class on April 22. We will discuss candidate date for the makeup class this Thursday.

April 18: Make-up class. The date is moved from April 22 to May 7. Class starts at 7pm.

- May 23 (Thursday) in class.
- Cover chapters 5 and 6.
- There will be a R question. Prepare a laptop!
- 30 minutes to solve 2~3 questions.
- We will use classrooms 210 and 307.
- How to prepare?
- Make sure that you can do everything in homework 5,6,7,8,9. This is the top priority.
- If you have time left, solve textbook exercises as much as you can.
- Day 19 reading guide has some exercise questions for this quiz. It will be useful to solve them carefully.
- Try the last year's quiz. It will be distributed in class.
May 23: Quiz 2 is today. Please don't be late.
May 28: I have posted a new assignment, homework 10. The due date is June 4 (Tuesday).
The intended deadline was June 6, Thursday. But I have found that it is a holiday so cannot be a deadline. I am sorry for the confusion.
May 28: This Thursday (May 30) we will have a lab session. Please have your laptop ready.
May 31: Day 25 lecture note is posted. It is the last note of this semester.
