Supervision

I have been working as a therapist since 1989. I have also trained and supervised counsellors and psychotherapists both in the UK and abroad. I am a UKCP registered Gestalt psychotherapist and supervisor and a Supervising member of the Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Institute (GPTI). I offer individual and group supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists.

I see supervision as a safe, confidential and creative space for counsellors and psychotherapists to be supported and challenged in examining their therapy practice. 

I see three aspects to my role as a supervisor - 

• Supporter - giving the supervisee support to look at their growing edges; their successes as a therapist, as well as how they are affected by the pain and distress they hear on often a daily basis. When working in this way I tend to come from a place of openness, curiosity and willingness to fully meet the other person. I also use a wide variety of creative methods to help people increase their awareness of their practice.  

• Helping the supervisee to learn and develop their skills. Here I may share and discuss theory and relate it to practice with a supervisee. 

• Monitoring practice - helping the therapist  monitor how she is doing with her clients (this includes me taking action in the case of unethical practice)

My current professional interests include bodywork, mindfulness and supporting clients to explore their spirituality. 

My fees for supervision are £60 per 50 minute session.
