My name is Jordan LaSecla and I currently live in Southern California. I am excited to share that I completed my student teaching at Manhattan Beach Middle School and my Master’s in Secondary Education through Grand Canyon University. In 2017 I decided to leave my career in aerospace to pursue my dream to teach and coach. After substituting for a year, I decided to pursue my master’s degree and my teaching credential. For a year and a half, I taught elementary school physical education and coached football, basketball, and volleyball while taking courses and observing experienced instructors. For my student teaching I taught seventh grade social science and I plan to get my credential for secondary education in both history and mathematics. In the next year I will be substituting in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District while I obtain my two credentials. I am eager to start my career wherever I get an opportunity, I have never been more excited about what my future holds. Throughout my professional portfolio you will have a chance to understand my teaching philosophy and see my student teaching experience firsthand.
