Vegetation induced clay-shrinkage occurs when trees and mature shrubs extract moisture from the soil profile around the foundations of a property resulting in subsidence. The extent of this can be severe and is of a concern to property owners.
A combination of factors are linked to vegetation induced subsidence: Tree species, maturity and physiological condition of the tree, age and type of structure, foundation design and soil type.
We undertake arboricultural surveys, producing a report commenting on the current damage. The report also includes opinion relating to the mitigation of future risk. The report will include (where available) results of other site investigations including those from structural engineers and soil specialists.
Our reports are suitable for submission to insurance companies along with other technical reports, allowing the property owner a practicable remedial and long term vegetation-management solution to tree-related subsidence, damage and risk.
