I'm an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University. I study political participation, political inequality, democratic accountability, political representation, and education policy.

My work has been published in the American Political Science Review [2], the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Nature Human Behavior, the British Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, to name a few. My research has been supported by two National Science Foundation grants.

I'm currently working on a book (under revisions at Cambridge University Press) that explores ways to increase perpetually low rates of voter participation among young people.

My work has been covered by outlets such as the Washington Post, [2] [3], [4], New York Magazine, the Boston Globe, NPR, Bloomberg, Politico, Fast Company, Salon, Business Insider, VoxEu, and FiveThirtyEight.
