JohnI'm a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics at Princeton University. This fall, I'll start as an assistant professor in the Political Science Department at Brigham Young University. My subfields are political behavior, public policy, and methods for causal inference. I study voter turnout, democratic accountability, representation, and education policy. 

I focus on doing
policy-relevant research. My work has been covered by news outlets such as the Washington Post, Bloomberg, and FiveThirtyEight.
