Cryptography and Security Protocols (Math and CS MSc's, IST-UL)

This page collects some material used in the cryptography course I sometimes teach to Math and CS MSc students at IST-UL. Originality is limited, as this material is essentially a collage of various book chapters and notes from cryptography courses elsewhere. The order and interweaving of the topics reflects my personal (evolving, often limited and naive) view of the subject.

The notes draw heavily from Katz-Lindell's Introduction to Modern Cryptography book, the lecture notes from Barak's intensive intro cryptography course, and Boneh-Shoup's A graduate course in applied cryptography book. A few parts of the material fall outside these books, and are heavily based on notes from courses taught elsewhere (e.g., by Noah Stephens-Davidowitz and Vinod Vaikuntanathan).
