Growing up, I soon learned to stand up for my beliefs.  It's how I was raised, and I'm thankful to my parents for this life lesson.  Hopefully my children and my students will also learn this lesson.  

Since we all have opinions, the important part of this task is defending our beliefs in a respectful manner.
