Teaching Philosophy

  • Incorporate active learning and teaching to make learning fun and improved
  • Deliver hybrid classroom experience (lecture + lab) for teaching programming
  • Employ backward design to plan a teaching activity such that learning objectives determine assessments and in turn classroom activities
  • Use formative evaluations to improve teaching continually for current learners

Teaching Experience

  • Completed formal training through the Johns Hopkins Teaching Academy certificate program
  • Participated in a 3-day workshop Teaching Institute at JHU to learn modern teaching elements
  • Co-designed and co-instructed 10-week course on data science for first year undergraduate students (Fall 2017)
  • Assisted in course design for "Surgery for Engineers" led by Prof. Jeff Siewerdsen (BME)
  • Developing an online course on "Data Science for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare" through the JHU Provost's Office DELTA grants
