Nylon PVC coated with taped seams is lightweight and ideal for general use. Navy, black or olive and good value

Jackets (£12.50) with zip front and hood, and elastic waist trousers (£7.50) with ankle studs are available in childrens and adults sizes.

The upgraded Mk2 version comes in MTP (multicam) fabric. Jacket (£61.50) has larger pockets and trousers (£35.95) with ankle zips and is £85 for both.

S to XXL, Ideal for birdwatchers, fishers, hunters, gamekeepers and other country pursuits.

Fortex Flex, a more yielding material, consists a polyurethane skin on a knitted base, and comes in dark green or dark blue.

This low condensation material has an inherent stretchiness which makes it hard to tear and comfortable to wear. Jacket £24.95, Trousers £14.25.

One piece Fortex Flex boilersuit is also available.

The classic Waxed Jacket is a rugged practical garment, and this one from Hoggs features a full quilted lining and detachable hood. £64.25

Of course, if you don't like hoods, a waxed cap or hat is the alternative.
