Dock Door Comments
Where does Jarman specify the "dock door" is the one between the elevator and the stairs?
Jarman said: "And that day the dock door was up and the side door was opened." The only "dock door" that is verified as being opened is one that was opened on the west wall. This is the "dock door" that Jarman apparently also called "the side door".
Jarman says: "No guard or anything -- just walk inside the buildling, step on the elevator, pull the gate down and go on up stairs." Nothing there about going through some open freight door next to the stairway and using that to walk up.
Lidell Consumer Beware Theory
Ross Lidell proposed years ago that Oswald thought the rifle was 36" (because of the Klein's ad) and that he was shipped a 40" Carcano. Because he didn't notice the actual length, Oswald made the paper bag too short in length.
Lidell further proposed that Oswald originally thought he would be "one-shot Lee" in which case no one would know where the shot came from and that he might have used the paper bag to spirit the rifle out the back door and dispose of it in the Trinity river. With the bag too small, Oswald ended up hiding the rifle at the Depository, hoping it would give him enough time to get to Red Bird Airport and hijack a plane.
