Jehangir's School Of Speech & Drama was born in 1972/3, when Meher Jehangir began teaching at Convent Of Jesus & Mary, Clare Road.
Over the years since then Meher has evolved into the seniormost teacher of Speech & Drama, and amongst the most successful, in the city of Mumbai - a city that is probably the biggest centre, worldwide, for the Trinity Guildhall Examination Board.
Alongside her teaching, Meher and her husband, Nosherwan, were active in theatre, acting in and directing over 40 productions each, sometimes together and sometimes independently. They have also directed over 35 high school productions.
Since 1996 Nosherwan has been involved full time with the school as well.
Jehangir's School has a strong and dedicated staff, all of whom have grown with the institute first as students and later as teachers. The staff has at its core a group of dedicated teachers all with experience of over 7 years of teaching. They are supported by a group of enthusiastic and talented young teachers who are pursuing their professional Qualifications in Speech & Drama side by side with their work.
Our results have been outstanding over the years. On average over the past 10 years, we have a record of about 60 - 70% of our students achieving 85% or more (Distinction) at the Trinity Guildhall Speech & Drama Examinations. (See Our Achievements)
Offline, the school runs at 4 different locations in Mumbai; Nana Chowk, Matunga, Bandra and Ghatkopar. The current strength of the school is approximately 600 students.
