He Caught Me
Where are You, Lord?
My heart is not at home
Within your safe green pastures
O'er doubting wilds I roam
Jesus, are You seeking me
Like the old Good Shepherd's tale?
I'm lost inside a tangled wood.
Can You hear my bleating wail?
O Father, I am hanging
By a slowly unraveling rope
Over the cliff of disbelief.
Can You catch me Lord? I hope.
Father, I am huddled
at the bottom of a self-dug well
Trying to shut out the panic
Of being trapped into this cell.
Then all of a sudden, a shadow passes
Over the once unreachable light.
A face is seen. It's Jesus.
Your eyes behold my plight.
Your love is cascading over me
As the bucket of hope is cast down
A lifeline of faith, I grab it.
You pull me to solid ground.
Into Your arms
Back in the fold
Home at last
Ready and bold.
I could not believe
Though I wanted to trust.
My heart needed answers.
My faith was not enough.
I was falling away.
No light could I see.
Trapped by myself
BUT YOU CAUGHT ME.
