1 lb ripe tomatoes (I like Campari)
1 stalk celery, chopped fine
1/2 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp fresh lime juice (1/3 to 1/2 of a lime)
1 tsp prepared horseradish (optional)
1/4 tsp celery salt (optional)
6 oz London dry gin (I like Tanqueray for this, choose your favorite)
Liquefy all ingredients in a blender for ~2 minutes. Pour through a strainer over a bowl, using a spoon to push all soft ingredients through the strainer, leaving only fragments of tomato skin and seeds. Discard these solids. Pour and serve.
The fresh tomato is the secret here. So much better than anything out of a container. Taste it, and you'll never want another Bloody Mary.
