Hello Friends,
After a long break we are back with more information over the different fighting techniques and much more related to JKDC.
Well the topic at discussion today is close quarter combat which in itself says must have given you the idea that this is hand to hand or fist to fist combat and may also involve wrestling and at times use of knives is made.
Before we get to the heart of the subject lets first discuss where do we intend to use close quarter techniques.
1. Situations wherein you are attacked by someone or a group at random
2. If you are in a position where there is no escape route
3. The opposite person has a weapon and so on..
There are n number of possibilities. But what is it for a martial artist who knows close quarter combat, it is just an opportunity to disable the threat by using brute force.
Generally as I keep discussing that JKDC is not about playing contest but is a real life threat response method. Close quarter combat is a highly advanced technique which is mainly taught to Military personnel and threat response teams who specialise in disabling enemy who posses short range weapons or enemy within a span of 30 Mtrs approx. A person trained under such technique is as good as a live weapon himself and can fend against several armed men atonce.
Techniques which are used in CQC make much use of Kali and also several descendant techniques, JKDC is a core part of CQC and one cannot simply forget that most of these techniques are close quarters..
Learning these techniques is not again that simple as shear practice along with practical situation to realise threat is very essential. One who can master that can flawlessly apply these techniques and guard himself against most odds.
I don't wish to conclude this topic here as we have just begun. I would like to hear more about your views so that we can take up from where I stop today. As a bonus I will also post a video of demonstration for CQC. Hope you guys like it..
