Jorge Dávila received his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Control, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 2010, he was awarded the Alfonso Caso Medal for his outstanding doctoral studies. He is currently a Full Professor at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, Unidad Ticomán, Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), and a member of the Laboratory of Control and Autonomous Systems.
His research focuses on control theory and its applications in aerospace systems. He has authored one book, seven book chapters, and over 40 journal papers in leading venues, including Automatica and IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. Dr. Dávila is a Senior Member of IEEE and AIAA, Associate Editor of IFAC Journal of Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems and IEEE Control Systems Society - Letters, and has been recognized among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.
