Daddy
It was 1:30 A.M. on 28th Oct. ’72 Jacob was born in Immaculate Conception Convent Hospital in Coimbatore. After a long wait and anxious moments, when the nurse showed him, I was so thrilled to see such a sweet charming boy.
I was watching every phase of his life and progress with much interest and satisfaction. His progress was quite steady and more than our expectation in all fields. I was very happy and proud when he bagged National Rank in Maths in his CBSE X Exam. From that time onwards his progress was in double speed. He came out of BITS, Pilani, at the age of 20+ with a B.E. (Hons) Degree. He worked for a while in Madras and went to Dubai. His growth there was spectacular. Within four years, he grew with the company. Because of his trustworthiness, he was entrusted with many responsibilities and was overall incharge of marketing operations.
He was dynamic and adventurous. He cared for us – his parents, sister & brother very much. Our father – son relationship was a rare one. In the midst of our duties, we always found time for friendly chats. He was a rare gem in our family and among his friends. The number of calls and condolence messages we got from his friends & associates from various walks of life proved the fact that he was very dear to all. He was a shining example of how a son should be; a brother should be; a relative should be; and a friend should be.
He had a compassionate heart. He was contributing to many charitable institutions & recently he had sponsored a mentally – retarded boy (Hari – 15 years old) from the Spastics Society of India, Chennai, committing Rs. 15000 /- per annum.
I never even dreamt that it would be my last hug and kiss to him at the Sharjah Airport on 29/4/’98 when his Mummy & self were taking leave of him after our short holiday with him in Dubai. He was my tower of strength & everything shattered on 19th June, ’98 Friday, when he passed away along with his friend, Manoj, in a tragic road accident in Dubai. May their souls rest in peace.
I thank God for giving us such a wonderful son.
