For the the Creatures from Space project, each student will:
Pick a planet/moon/asteroid in our Solar System
Research the conditions (ie. gravity, atmospheric pressure and gasses, day & night temperatures, amount of light, etc.)
Find some Earth based animals with extreme adaptations to use as reference
Collect some reference animal images
Plan a creature
Create a 3D computer graphics model of their creature
Render some images (or maybe even some animation)
Most modelling and rendering will be done using blender (and maybe some animation).
Want to learn blender on your own? Start learning blender here!
If you are finding blender difficult, or just want to add some more detail you might want to try Sculptris. Afterwards you can import your model back to blender to build your scene.
Check out some work done by other students!
