Hamid Jabbar

My name is Hamid Jabbar and I am from Islamabad, Pakistan.

Starting in 2003, I joined NESCOM in Islamabad, Pakistan as Assistant Manager (Technical). I served there till mid 2013 as Manager (Technical). 

 From August 2006 to August 2008, I did my M.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Myongji University, Yongin, South Korea under the supervision of Professor Taikyeong Ted Jeong.

In September 2013, I started my Ph. D. studies in SEED Lab, department of electrical engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea under the supervision of Professor Tae Hyun Sung. I received my Ph. D. degree in February 2017 [Thesis].

From March 2017 to August 2018, I worked as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, at Hanyang University Seoul. My major responsibility was to guide the graduate student's research in the SEED lab. My main role was to supervise the Circuit Design group of the SEED lab and to achieve the goals of the research and commercialization projects. We also implemented the techniques of double diamond, design thinking, TRIZ, and creativity in the design and commercialization of piezoelectric material-based devices to reduce the R&D time and budget and to create next-generation efficient human resources.

Since September 2018, I have been working in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. I initially joined as an Assistant Professor, since August 2018 I was promoted to the position of Associate Professor. I was also responsible for the department's Postgraduate program and Program Coordinator.

In January 2022, as a research collaborative effort, I became Co-PI of the Micro and Nano Robotics Technologies lab of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at NUST College of EME, Rawalpindi.a

Starting September 2023, I am serving as Head of Department (HOD), Mechatronics Engineering, NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).

In January 2024, I became a Co-PI of the Nanosciences & Technology Lab 1 of the School of Interdisciplinary Engineering & Science (SINES) at NUST Main Campus.
