Outdoor Games

During my years in primary school we played a lot of outdoor games with friends. Most of them didn't have clear rules at the beginning and that annoyed me so I always made sure that the rules were as clear as possible and everyone played by the same rules.

My biggest achievement was a swing dodge ball (kiikkupolttopallo) that evolved during the years into a complicated set of rules that was enjoyed by everyone (that is not an easy task when there are up to eight children in the same game and everyone have their own preferred rules).

I don't pay too much attention to outdoor games anymore. With new technologies I can combine the virtual worlds with the real world and create interesting scenarions that way. I still hope that children play outside in future; you can't modify digital games as easily as you can traditional games and that is important for creativity.
