2. Regarding your Passport:
If you don't presently have a passport, fill out and send in your registration now anyway and simply forward on the passport information later when you do have it. NOTE: If you DO have a passport, check the expiration date. It MUST expire later than 6 months after the last day we are in Israel. If it doesn't, apply for a new one now. It takes about 6 weeks to get a new passport, so acting now will prevent feeling rushed later.
There is an expedited process for a fee (to the passport office) to receive a passport in less time. Your local post office will have passport applications, and any Walgreens or like entity, will take passport photos for you on the spot for a nominal price.
