Imam Sadiq (a.s) said:
A believer does not have the right to be upset about anything or to weep.
But if you want to weep, weep for the sake of the cruelty upon my ancestor Hussain, who was beheaded from behind like an animal.
The real shedding of tears should be for the devil pretending to be human, that by killing someone who was in the highest human stature( Ahsan-Taqweem ), who was an example of a a true human being, proved the definition of the return,of the human to the lowest of the low level ( Asfal- Asafeleen).
Weeping is for a nation, in which a magnificent character by the name of Hussain (a.s) is killed in such a manner, that he was decapitated, and his body destroyed.
Weeping is for the ones like us who are surviving.
Weeping is for us that we have turned religion into a play thing in this world.
But Hussain (a.s) made us understand the real worth of religion, meaning to know God as Allah and to be steadfast.
Weeping is for worldly attached people like us, so that we can see how one of our beloved masters, freely went towards Allah, from other than Allah, and did not hinder even for a moment in this act.
Every moment Hussain (a.s) got closer to martyrdom his cheeks flushed even more and his face glowed with happiness.
And why should it be other wise? The one who was a model for Love for Allah and symbol of freedom from all dependency and attachments. If we would not have witnessed this from Hussain (a.s), from who else can we expect this ?
Hussain was martyred while in thirst because he had divine thirst.
Hussain (a.s) forsake the world, because he was asked to forsake his divine responsibility.
But how many times have we forgotten and forsaken our religious responsibility for personal or worldly matters?
Hussain (a.s) told us, If I can stay how Allah wants me to stay in this world I shall stay, but if I have to be in this world in a manner, you like me to be towards Allah, I shall leave.
This also should be known that if any other Imam were in Hussain ( a.s ) place they would have done the same.
All the Imams were similar in the position of Imamat.
Just outwardly their orders differed, due to the specific periods they were in.
